HB 597 (2008) -  Community Service for Infractions of Noncriminal Traffic Offenses

Requires court to allow person to satisfy civil penalty for infraction of noncriminal traffic offense by participating in community service if person is unable to pay civil penalty due to demonstrable financial hardship; authorizes court to allow person to participate in community service even if person does not demonstrate financial hardship; provides that person participating in community service shall receive credit for civil penalty at specified hourly credit rate per hour of community service performed or at prevailing wage rate for trade or profession; defines terms.
