HB 883 (2008) -  Public Employees' Charitable Campaigns

Creates Public Employees' Charitable Campaign for local public employers other than state or federal employees; authorizes public employer to conduct charitable campaign as sole fundraising drive conducted during work hours; provides for workplace campaign activities & employee payroll deductions; requires all campaign contributions to be voluntary; provides for employee withdrawal from campaign; provides criteria & conditions for participating charitable organizations; provides for selection of fiscal agent; authorizes specified percentage of gross receipts to be withheld to pay costs of public employer & fiscal agent; provides for distribution of contributions.
