Broward County: Creates Broward Urban Independent Fire District; provides boundaries & jurisdiction; provides for compostion & rules of board; provides powers & duties of district; provides power to impose impact fees, special assessments, user fees, & ad valorem taxes up to 3.75 mills; provides for referendum.
Effective Date: upon approval by a majority vote of those qualified electors of Broward County voting in a referendum to be called by the Supervisor of Elections of Broward County on November 8, 2008, except that this section and section 14 shall take effect upon becoming a law.
