General Bill by Economic Expansion & Infrastructure Council and Lopez-Cantera (CO-SPONSORS) Homan
Motor Vehicle Dealers: Revises prohibitions against actions by licensed motor vehicle manufacturer, factory branch, distributor, or importer; prohibits certain actions by licensee relating to relocating, expanding, improving, remodeling, renovating, or altering certain approved facilities of motor vehicle dealer; provides for licensee to offer certain inducements for such changes; prohibits certain adverse actions against dealer; specifies that licensee may set & uniformly apply certain standards for motor vehicle dealer's sales & service facilities; revises prohibition against certain changes in supply to dealer; provides that no franchise agreement shall be terminated, canceled, discontinued, or not renewed on basis of misrepresentation, fraud, or filing false or fraudulent statements or claims unless licensee proves actual knowledge or has provided dealer with written notice & reasonable time to cure fraudulent actions; revises provisions for responsibilities of licensee for work performed pursuant to warranty, preparation procedures, or recall, directive, or bulletin; provides requirements for compensation to motor vehicle dealer.
