General Bill
Voting Rights:
Requires release of certain clemency investigation records; authorizes public access to certain data; requires Division of Elections to provide voter registration information before felon's release; requires assistance in completing forms; provides that knowledge that person's civil rights have been restored is considered request to have name placed into statewide voter registration system; requires supervisors of elections to perform certain tasks; provides for immediate addition of names to statewide voter registration system under certain circumstances; provides exemption from certain trial costs when appealing determination of ineligibility to register to vote; provides for restoration of names to statewide voter registration system; requires certain information to be furnished to DOS by governmental agencies; requires department to identify certain individuals upon receipt of list & that board furnish certain information to supervisors; establishes penalty for influencing or interfering with voting; provides for free copy of civil rights restoration certificate; requires division to educate about voting process & provide voter registration applications; authorizes access to certain data even if originally considered confidential.
