Joint Resolution
Restructuring the State Cabinet; Elected Commissioner of Education; Restructuring the Local Boards of Trustees and the Statewide Board of Governors of the State University System; Establishing the Florida College System:
Proposes amendments to s. 4, Art. IV & ss. 2 & 7, Art. IX & creation of s. 8, Art. IX & new section in Art. XII of State Constitution to create position of Commissioner of Education as elected member of Cabinet, to revise membership of State Board of Education, which shall consist of Governor & Cabinet, to revise membership, terms, & duties of local boards of trustees & Board of Governors of State University System, to establish Florida College System, to provide for local board of trustees to govern each institution in Florida College System, to provide for Florida College Board, to provide for expiration of terms & other transition provisions, & to provide effective date.
