CS/HB 1019 (2012) -  Treatment Programs for Impaired Professionals

Provides that EMT or paramedic who is certified or has applied to be certified may be subject to treatment program for impaired practitioners at election of impaired practitioner consultant; prohibits charging associated costs to DOH; exempts entity retained by DOH as impaired practitioner consultant from certain licensing requirements if entity employs or contracts with licensed professionals; authorizes DOH to refer applicant for licensure to consultant; clarifies requirements for impaired practitioner consultant to maintain as confidential certain information concerning impaired practitioner; authorizes department & certain other entities to have administrative control over impaired practitioner consultant to extent necessary to receive disclosures; provides that radiologic technologist who is certified or who has applied to be certified may be subject to treatment program for impaired practitioners at election of impaired practitioner consultant.
