SB 1220 (2017) -  Work Release for Nonviolent and Low-risk Offenders

Requiring, rather than authorizing, the Department of Corrections to adopt rules to allow inmates who are incarcerated for nonviolent offenses and who are considered low-risk offenders to participate in, unaccompanied by a custodial agent and for a prescribed time, work at paid employment, to participate in an education or a training program, or to voluntarily serve a public or nonprofit agency or faith-based service group in the community, etc.
