General Bill by Kendrick (CO-SPONSORS) Allen; Bullard; Gibson
Financial Services: Revises provisions relating to mortgage brokerage, mortgage lending, and financial services licensees; specifies nontransferability of permits and licenses; provides requirements for changes in ownership or controlling interest of businesses; provides for cancellation and reinstatement of permits and licenses; clarifies continuing education provisions; clarifies types of financial institutions eligible for exemptions from application of provisions of law; authorizes the Financial Services Commission or the Office of Financial Institutions and Securities Regulation to require information from applicants for licensure; provides for electronic filing of license renewal forms; revises mortgage broker licensure application and examination requirements; provides education, testing, and designation requirements for principal representatives or mortgage lenders; authorizes the commission to provide requirements for destruction of required licensee information.
Effective Date: This act shall take effect October 1, 2003
