Increased Production of Nurses in Florida: Authorizes the Board of Nursing to change faculty-to-student ratios only under certain circumstances; requires a study to evaluate rules regarding clinical instruction; provides for assistance to approved nursing programs to expand capacity; requires the Florida Center for Nursing to develop an information system; establishes a contract grant program for increasing the capacity of approved nursing programs; requires the Department of Education to establish procedures; specifies requirements for grant proposals and establishes priorities for receipt of grants; renames the Nursing Student Loan Forgiveness Program and the Nursing Scholarship Program and transfers administration of the programs to the Department of Education; revises criteria and priority for receiving funds; renames the Nursing Student Loan Forgiveness Trust Fund and transfers administration of the trust fund to the department; requires the department to identify specified examinations for earning postsecondary credit for mastery of nursing course material.
