General Bill
Regulation of Health Care Professionals:
Deletes the requirement that the Department of Health issue wall certificates; requires licensees with licenses issued in error to surrender certain documents to the department; specifies that a state-developed test is not permitted if a national examination has been certified by the department; clarifies the limitation on who may challenge the validity of an examination; permits the department to post examination scores on the Internet; provides for a retired license status and provides a fee for such status; authorizes the department to reexamine certain licensees under certain circumstances; provides requirements for retired status licensees to reactivate their licenses; defines "practice of a certified nursing assistant"; requires the Board of Nursing to adopt rules to specify the scope of practice for certified nursing assistants; provides for the renewal of nursing assistant certification; provides for a fee; reduces the hours of inservice training required of certified nursing assistants; requires certification as a nursing assistant to be renewed and authorizing a fee for such renewal; requires the department to adopt rules regarding such renewal; provides that certificates not renewed by a specified date are void.
