Retirement: Authorizes citation as the "Officer Malcolm Thompson Act"; revises provisions relating to benefits payable for total and permanent disability for certain Special Risk Class members of the Florida Retirement System who are injured in the line of duty; authorizes reemployment of a person who retired with in-line-of-duty disability benefits by employers not participating in a state-administered retirement system; authorizes reemployment of a person who retired with in-line-of-duty disability benefits by an employer participating in a state-administered retirement system after one calendar month; provides for contribution rate increases to fund such benefits; directs the Division of Statutory Revision to adjust contribution rates set forth in s. 121.71, F.S.; provides legislative intent and a statement of important state interest.
