HB 1343 (2008) -  Voting Conflicts

Voting Conflicts: Creates "Restoration of Trust in Government Act"; prohibits member of Legislature from voting upon or participating in any legislation inuring to personal gain or loss of member, his or her relative, business associate, or employer, board on which member sits, principal by whom member is retained, or parent corporation or subsidiary of such principal; requires member to disclose all such interests to applicable legislative body or committee before such legislation is considered; requires member to disclose specific nature of any such interests within specified period after date on which vote occurs; requires such disclosure to be made by written memorandum & filed with Senate Secretary or House Clerk; requires memorandum to be displayed in journal of house of which such legislator is member.
