Health Care:
Establishes Office of Public Health Nutrition within DOH; removes provision limiting number of breast & cervical cancer screenings based on Medicaid expenditures; renames ch. 385, F.S., as "Healthy & Fit Florida Act"; requires DOH to support creation of public health programs at state & community levels; authorizes department to advance funds for program startup; authorizes state agencies to conduct employee wellness programs & requires department, in conjunction with DMS, to assist agencies to develop those programs; provides immunity from liability for facilities, laboratories, & practitioners submitting cancer reports to department; permits department or contractual designee operating statewide cancer registry program to use or publish information contained in registry for public health surveillance; increases membership of Diabetes Advisory Council; provides requirements for contracts that provide funding for Pediatric Hematology-oncology Center Program; authorizes State Surgeon General to seek federal waivers necessary to implement Arthritis Prevention & Education Program; authorizes department to establish direct-support organization; requires annual audit.
