HB 7 (2007) -  Juvenile Defendants

Requires public defender to represent indigent child taken into custody under specified provisions; requires that child be represented at specified point in delinquency proceedings unless counsel is waived after advice of counsel; permits counsel to advise child after specified point in delinquency proceedings; requires court-appoint counsel for indigent child if child's parent or legal guardian is alleged victim in case; provides that parent or guardian is not liable for fees, charges, or costs upon finding that parent or legal guardian is victim of offense.
Effective Date: July 1, 2007.
