General Bill
Forensic Mental Health:
Provides additional responsibilities for certain DCFS contractors; authorizes DCFS to make certain training available to correctional personnel; provides for requiring certain involuntary outpatient patients to take medication; requires that certain adults receive forensic mental health transition plans; provides timeframes for competency hearings for defendants adjudicated incompetent; reduces period after which charges may be dismissed against defendant adjudicated incompetent to proceed, but provides to extension by judge; provides for dismissal of charges in shorter period if such defendant agrees to conditional release plan; provides for creation of forensic mental health probation & parole program; provides for forensic probation officers; authorizes & provides requirements for mental health courts; requires that such courts be funded from existing revenues or certain grants; requires rulemaking by DCFS relating to supportive housing; requires study by OPPAGA.
