Truck Safety: Revises provisions for exemption from specified notification requirements for commercial motor vehicles carrying hazardous materials; incorporates specified federal regulations; updates regulations and rules applicable to commercial motor vehicle owners and drivers; specifies ownership identification requirements for commercial motor carriers; provides penalties for violation of such requirements; provides for compliance reviews; deletes obsolete references; corrects references; revises penalty provisions for specified violations; provides penalties for specified violations and noncompliance by certain commercial motor carriers; authorizes the Office of Motor Carrier Compliance to issue out-of-service orders to commercial motor carriers; provides procedures; provides penalties for failure to comply; revises truck length limitations for described semitrailers; provides that penalties shall be a lien on the vehicle; deletes specified receipt requirement; authorizes weight inspectors to detain described vehicles; authorizes said inspectors to contact law enforcement officer; revises provisions relating to a law enforcement authority; repeals provisions relating to identification required on commercial motor vehicles and inspection of vehicle.
Effective Date: This act shall take effect upon becoming a law
