HB 1673 CS (2004) -  Wrecker Services

Revises the wrecker allocation system of the Florida Highway Patrol; provides for maximum rates for towing and storing vehicles under the allocation system; prohibits an unauthorized wrecker company from monitoring a police radio or engaging in certain other activities; provides requirements for dispatching wreckers under the allocation system; provides for the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services to regulate wrecker companies; creates the Wrecker Operator Advisory Council; requires wrecker companies to register with the department and obtain certification; requires examinations and continuing education for wrecker operators; authorizes the department to inspect employment records;revises provisions for the recovery, towing, and storing of vehicles, vessels, and mobile homes.
